Google Glass, which is also known as Project Glass, is one of the revolutionary inventions by Google. Though users needed to receive invitations in order to wear this glass so far, it became available to the common people from 15th May, 2014 at the cost of $1500. Google offers five frames and eight shades to choose from. In order to offer some additional frames, Google partnered with Luxottica, the Italian eyewear company, which has launched brands like Oakley and Ray-Ban. The prototype of Google Glass looks like usual eyeglasses, with the only exception of the lens getting replaced by a head-up display. Available in multiple colors, shades, frames, and earbuds,this Glass is designed to fit your lifestyle.

Google Glass is a feature-rich production on behalf of Google that aims to simplify people’s lives. It comes with four feather-light titanium frames that can fit anyone – with or without any prescription. Its twist-on shades with impact-resistant, polarized lenses from Zeal Optics andMaui Jim make it ideal for a variety of purposes. With earbuds available in five interchangeable colors that deliver full range audio, the Glass ensures that you don’t miss a single beat again.

Google Glasshas a camera that can record 720p HD video and take photos with excellent resolution. The device can be operated using the touchpad, which is located on its side. One can just swipe through the timeline-like interface, which is displayed on the screen. To check past events like photos or phone calls, you need to slide forward. In order to check current events like weather updates, you need to slide backward. The device is equipped with an extremely powerful display. It is LED illuminated and uses field-sequential color and Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS).

One can access existing Google applications like Google Maps, Google Now, Gmail and Google+ as well as new applications (which are mostly built by third party developers) like Skitch, Evernote, Path and The New York Times in Google Glass. It has enjoyed positive recognitions from different sources. It was declared to be one of the “Best Inventions of the Year 2012” by Time Magazine.
