Many experts consider the Sony Xperia Z2 to be Sony’s first real effort at claiming back some of the high-end market share of smartphones that it has lost over the past year. Let’s take a look at what you get when you buy Sony Xperia Z2.
Design
Though it looks much similar to the Z1 – its predecessor, the Z2 is actually lighter and slimmer, which you can realize when you pick it up.
Display
As compared to the 5 inch display of Z1, the Z2 has a bigger screen measuring 5.2 inches, which is also much brighter than previous Xperia devices.
Camera
The Z2’s camera offers 4K video and 20.7 megapixel photos. Therefore, you can now click photos with nice depth of field, thanks to the good aperture and relatively accurate colors of this camera. You can even capture slow-motion videos, quite similar to the slow-mo effect of Apple’s most recent devices.
Hardware
The Z2 has an inbuilt 16GB storage space and also comes with a microSD slot that you can use to expand the memory further to approximately 64GB. Though this is nowhere near the latest Samsung Galaxy S5, which is available in both 32GB and 16GB models, the Z2 beats them with its battery life. This phone can run for 740 hours in an idle state on “stamina mode” while the S5, when put on a comparable “ultra power saving mode” will run for just 390 hours on standby.
Sound
With its stereo offering S-Force Front Surround and a new noise cancellation system, sound output of the Z2 has become significantly improved.
To conclude, most reviewers find the Z2 to be a big improvement on its predecessor, the Z1.
